01

The Challenge

The procedural generation of every new game meant that dialogue and other narrative elements had to be cohesive in every scenario

02

My Approach

I iterated on several systems and worked on dialogue templates to keep interactions cohesive within the game's randomized nature

Key Contributions

Clue System

I iterated on the clue system to allow for a variety of items to be used during investigations

Alibi System

I created the alibi system to keep testimonies from crew members to keep investigations engaging

Modular Content

I fine-tuned clues, alibis, and dialogue to allow for flexibility and cohesion for all scenarios

04   Deep Dive

Clue System

Players will collect clues while exploring their ship to use as evidence during interrogations and the final judgement

Each clue has multiple suspects

Different locations each playthrough

Unlocks new dialogue options

Reflection

This project taught me how complex procedural generation is when it comes to story and narrative elements. If I were to do it again, I would spend more time testing and iterating on the system along with make more dialogue templates

Implement more dialogue templates

More QA testing

More optimizations for each version
